Queensland's Gallery of Modern Arts

In January 2006, Multiblast Industrial Coatings was awarded the contract for 8,000 sq metres of internal polished concrete and 8,000 sq metres of sandblasting and sealing to the external walkways at the new Queensland Gallery of Modern Art; The Millennium Project in Brisbane. The works were awarded to Multiblast by QR Concrete with the principal contractor being Bovis Lend Lease. Work on the site commenced at the beginning of April 2006 and concluded in October 2006. Over 3,000 man hours went into this project under very trying conditions, having to grind and seal floors throughout the centre around every trade. Multiblast equipped itself with the full range of dual drive planetary diamond grinders from King Concepts in Melbourne. Although Multiblast faced the usual big site issues that arise when working over other trades, we have to commend Peter Kyte and his supervisors of Bovis Lend Lease and Chris Jones and his staff from QR Concrete on their professional attitude in helping the project run smoothly and for their support throughout the project.

The same must be said for the management and staff at King Concepts, as many phone calls were made during the course of the project for advice and the placement of urgent orders, and it was reassuring to know they were just a phone call away.

The Millennium project was one of the biggest jobs Multiblast has undertaken, and we were praised both by QR Concrete and the Management of Bovis Lend Lease for completing the project on time and to such a high standard.

Multiblast would like to thank everyone who was involved with them on the Millennium project - when you align yourself with such professional people, there can only be one outcome - SUCCESS.
