Macintosh Island Bridge

In September 2007, Multiblast were engaged by Ark Constructions and the Gold Coast City Council as the preferred supplier to undertake the concrete honing of the new Macintosh Island Bridge, spanning across the river to Main Beach on the Gold Coast.

Coastcrete Constructions were engaged by Ark Constructions to lay the concrete, and did so under very difficult conditions as it poured with rain just as the concrete was being finished, but to their credit, still managed to give Multiblast a great base in which to complete the honing. The concrete selected was Hanson’s Florence Terracrete Black Oxide at 50 MPA, and sealed in a penetrating sealer.
